It's been a hard day's night, and I've been workin' like a dog...

So Hell Week wrapped up with Rena's and my trip to Sam's club on Friday...along the way we managed to pick up even more furniture for the Palace. And a lot of food. And a new roomie! That's right, it's what we've all been waiting for so (im)patiently...Rachel's here! Well, she got in a week ago, to tell the truth (after driving across two states through the mountains by herself) and it's been crazy ever since.

I didn't realize how much I missed her until the need was gone. It's just like old times, with some new things added in. Like the mung beans sprouting on the kitchen sill. And the car parked outside. Oh, the car! It took her and I to Mukilteo on Sunday, where we got on our bikes and took the ferry over to Whidbey Island. We chose the hilliest route to Langley (which I sailed to with Dad when I was 11!) and when we arrived, the entire town was in the middle of playing a murder mystery game out in the streets. It turns out they've been doing this for only the last 20 years or so. You can't pass these things up! Well, we couldn't.

We went to practically every little shop in Langley collecting little clues while the sun was shining and the characters were moseying around in their ridiculous costumes. We kicked ass, too. It was evidently a two-day event, and some people had stayed up late analyzing all the clues they'd found before they had to turn in their guesses on Sunday, but we had the killers cold seven minutes before the deadline, after spending a mere three hours gathering information. Yeah, we're good. ;-)

After conquering Langley, we drug ourselves back to the Palace and today has been fabulous. I finished my last physics lab ever and Rena just convinced me to have dinner at the Ginger Lime. She's smart like that. That's why I like her...and now I have leftovers. Mmm...I think I'm done for now...
